Oracle Supports Government Customers with Expanded Government Cloud Solutions Portfolio
Oracle adds human resources, enterprise resource planning, and sales offerings to Oracle Government Cloud platform
ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO – September 30, 2014
The US federal government’s Cloud First policy requires government agencies to leverage cloud computing benefits to improve IT flexibility and responsiveness, while also reducing costs. State and local agencies are likewise compelled to evaluate and pursue the benefits of cloud options. To help government organizations achieve these benefits, Oracle announced that Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud, Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning Cloud, and Oracle Sales Cloud solutions are now available through Oracle Government Cloud, expanding the capabilities offered through this highly secure platform. This is Oracle’s second major addition of software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to Oracle Government Cloud, following the inclusion of Oracle Service Cloud last year. Oracle Government Cloud is a comprehensive, flexible, and cost-effective portfolio of cloud applications and solutions that extends and enhances Oracle’s cloud presence with a secure offering built specifically for government.
With Oracle HCM Cloud applications now available through Oracle Government Cloud, government organizations can securely deploy a modern human resources (HR) system in the cloud with a talent-centric and collaborative strategy that aligns HR with their recruitment, skills development, and business objectives, enabling them to find and retain talent and improve operational efficiency.
Further, with Oracle ERP Cloud available via Oracle Government Cloud, government organizations can streamline business processes using tools supporting financials, budgetary control and encumbrance accounting
, procurement, project costing, and grant management
. Also, Oracle ERP Cloud’s public sector-specific sourcing features ensure transparency and compliance with sourcing policies via two-stage request for quotes (RFQs), surrogate bidding, online supplier messages, and negotiation creation and award approvals. With the solution in place, government agencies can confidently implement secure enterprise applications that ca
n increase productivity, lower costs, and improve controls.
In addition, with Oracle Sales Cloud applications available through Oracle Government Cloud, agencies can deliver an enhanced citizen experience throughout the service journey and across all interaction channels. Oracle Sales Cloud provides agencies with modern sales tools that are user friendly, offer quick deployment, help improve citizen engagement through enhanced social and mobile capabilities, and leverage learned insights to improve constituent experience from actionable data, all with the speed and agility of the cloud.
Oracle owns, manages, and certifies the underlying technology for Oracle Government Cloud, providing customers with the extreme performance, scalability, availability, and security needed to run mission-critical, government-specific solutions. Oracle Government Cloud provides a complete, open portfolio of innovative and integrated capabilities that extends cloud offerings to mission-critical environments and enables more control and visibility over security, service levels, functionality, and government regulatory compliance (FedRAMP, FIPS 140-2 Security Validation, Common Criteria Validation).
“With Oracle Human Capital Management, we created an automated, transparent recruiting process that enables us to better screen our applicants and fill positions more quickly,” said Christina Batorski, deputy commissioner, Department of Human Resources, City of Chicago.
“We are very pleased to add Oracle Human Capital Management, Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning, and Oracle Sales to the highly secure, robust suite of cloud solutions built for government. These comprehensive solutions will allow agencies to confidently move their HR, enterprise, and sales applications to the cloud without risking security, performance, or reliability,” said Mark Johnson, senior vice president, Oracle Public Sector.
